The Saline Indoor Farmers Market is one of a few winter markets in Washtenaw that happens every Saturday as soon as the outside market ends in October and continues until it starts again in May. A variety of farmers and vendors set up in a hallway at Liberty School on N. Ann Arbor St. Added this year were cooking demonstrations the first and third Saturdays of each month by Vegan Chef Jeff Tritten formerly of Smoke in Downtown Saline. There have also been workshops, health screenings and artisan demonstrations from pasta making to kombucha brewing. The best part of the market is the great variety of locally made / grown items including (pending vendor participation): Produce is available including microgreens and mushrooms, artisan cheeses (mozzarella, pimiento, goat, bleu, and more), dry cured salame, chocolate, local raw honey, fresh hormone-free eggs, fresh frozen chickens, pickles, apples, apple cider, freshly roasted coffee beans, jams, mixed tea blends, flavored butters, authentic-made flour tortillas, breads, muffins, cookies, pastries, pies, pretzels, donuts, nut butters, fudge, freshly-made chips and salsas, granola, spice mixes and more added all the time. Handcrafted items include jewelry, mittens, gloves, scarves, socks, hats, hot pads, carry bags, wooden bowls, pen and pencils sets, soy candles, greeting cards, aprons and more.
