Description
This summer marks the 50th anniversary of a "giant leap for mankind" - the first manned lunar landing. On July 20, 1969, the lunar module of Apollo 11 landed safely on the Moon in the area known as the Sea of Tranquility. The module was manned by Commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin. Join physics professor and astronomer Jesse Lee Mason for a presentation on this history making lunar landing and others during the height of the Space Race.
