\n Join us and our friends at Athleta on June 21\, 2018 to officially welcome summer. Solstice\, is derived from two Latin words\, sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still)\, the word solstice actually means &ldquo\;sun standing still.&rdquo\; A solstice occurs twice each year\, when the movement of the sun'\;s path (as seen from Earth) comes to a stop before it reverses direction. In June and December.
\n The summer solstice is the longest day of the year. It contains more hours between sunrise and sunset than any other day\, presenting us with ample opportunities for warm-weather activities and a time to reflect with gratitude for the gifts of nature among us.
\n We'\;ll complete a yoga mala (108 repetitions) in the lush grasses of henne park in Saline MI. The mala will consist of alternating rounds of sun salutations and energizing mantra to honor the day. All abilities and ages are welcome. Modifications will be provided to make the event enjoyable for everyone. This will be a donation class in support of Saline Social Services. Yogacentric and Athleta will provide coffee\, water and treats\, and will raffle off a gift card. \;
