SUMMARY:BOOK READING & DISCUSSION ON BULLYING
DESCRIPTION:Come out and join us to meet local author Smita Nagpal\, Ph.D.. Her first children's book\, Brian and the Bully is now available on Amazon. Nagpal\, who is a mother and a psychologist with many years of experience working with children\, wrote this book along with her co-author\, Elizabeth Mikesch\, MFA (a Saline High graduate)\, to provide an uncommon perspective on the problem of bullying. She believes there is no simple answer for kids who experience this issue and trying to provide a one-size fits all solution can make the problem worse. Instead she suggests a significant departure from providing a solution to simply listening to the child and attempting to problem-solve with them. \n\n\n\nA reading of the book will be followed by a discussion on the topic of bullying. Dr. Nagpal will be available afterwards for book signing. Her book will be available for purchase at Brewed Awakenings Cafe.\n\n \nThe book includes a note for parents and caregivers\, written by a licensed psychologist\, providing guidance on what to do if their child is being bullied
